#المفعول_المطلق اسم منصوب وظيفته نحوية يؤديها #المصدر أو ما ينوب عن المصدر
«التطبيق النحوي» (ص220):
«في بعض الكتب المدرسية، وفي بعض كتب الأعاريب المتأخرة نجد عبارة "نائب مفعول مطلق" تحليلا للكلمات السابقة، وهي عبارة غير صحيحة؛ لأن المفعول المطلق "وظيفته نحوية" يستعمل "المصدر" فيها. والكلمات السابقة لا تنوب عن المفعول المطلق، إنما تنوب عن المصدر في الدلالة على المفعول المطلق؛ ذلك أن هذه الكلمات مبهمة بطبيعتها، وهي تكتسب ذواتها مما بعدها، ومن ثَمَّ فهي تكون فاعلا أو مفعولا أو ظرفا مثل:
كافأت كلَّ الطلاب.
هو يعمل بعضَ الوقت.
فكلمة "كل" مفعول به، ولا نقول: نائب مفعول به، وكلمة "بعض" ظرف زمان ولا نقول: نائب ظرف زمان. فلم نقول: إنها نائب مفعول مطلق؟»

«قَوْله {فَاجْلِدُوهُمْ ثَمَانِينَ جلدَة} انتصب ثَمَانِينَ على الْمصدر»
