السماء الخضراء
قالت صحيفة "ديلي ميل" البريطانية إن سكان سو فولز، كبرى مدن الولاية شعروا وكأنهم في مسلسل "أمور غريبة"، عندما انقلب لون السماء إلى الأخضر الداكن.
وكشفت خدمة الأرصاد الجوية الوطنية في الولايات المتحدة أن الأمر لم يكن بسبب إعصار كما يعتقد البعض، إنما ناجم عما يسمى بـ "ديريتشو
و"الديريتشو" ظاهرة مناخية تحدث عندما ترتبط رياح شديدة سرعتها (158 كيلومترا) مع العواصف الرعدية ذات السرعة الفائقة.
ولم تكن هذه الظاهرة غريبة فحسب، إذ إنها أدت إلى انقطاع التيار الكهربائي عن مناطق واسعة في المدينة.
وقال عالم الأرصاد الجوية، إسحاق لونجلي: "في حين أنه من الشائع نسبيا رؤية هذه السماء الخضراء، خاصة في السهول، إلا أن هذه السماء ارتبطت بالعواصف الشديدة التي اجتاحت منطقة شلالات سيوكس خلال فترة ما بعد ظهر يوم الخامس من يوليو، مما جعل السماء أكثر اخضرارا من الوضع الطبيعي".
