هذا، ليس سحرا، بل تجربة علميةٌ حقيقية.
رش بعض الملح على بيضة، وستتمكن بسهولةٍ من وضع بيضةٍ أخرى فوقها. صب بعض بكربونات الصودا في بالون، اربطهُ بزجاجةٍ تحتوي على خل، وسينتفخ البالون. نشاء الذرة مع ملون الطعام، وستحصل على سائل، طريٍ عند الضغظ الخفيف، ولكنه صلب عند الضغط القوي. ضع زجاجة مغطاةً ببالون في الماء، واحدٌ منهم ساخن والثاني باردٌ على التوالي، وستشعر ما هو التمدد الحراري، والإنكماش الحراري. كما تشاهِدو مسمار واحدٌ يخترق بالونٍ بسهولة، لكن صفاً من المسامير لا يخترق البالون، لماذا؟.
