في خطوة غير مسبوقة، نجح علماء من شركة "الضخمة للعلوم الحيوية" في إعادة إحياء الذئب العملاق بعد انقراض دام اثني عشر ألف عام، وذلك باستخدام تقنيات الاستنساخ والجينات المستخرجة من أحافير قديمة جدًا. وقد وُلدت ثلاثة ذئاب جديدة تعيش الآن في محمية طبيعية داخل الولايات المتحدة، فيما تستعد الشركة لمشروع جديد يهدف إلى إعادة إحياء الماموث الصوفي بحلول عام ألفين وثمانية وعشرين. لكن هذا التقدم العلمي لا يخلو من الجدل، إذ يرى البعض أنه تمهيد لاستخدام هذه التقنيات لاحقًا على البشر بهدف تعديل الصفات الوراثية، ما يثير مخاوف من نتائج غير متوقعة قد تخرج عن السيطرة. #مستكشف_الأرض #الذئب_العملاق
