صناعة الصابون عملية كيميائية تسمى "التصبن". ينتج عن هذا التفاعل بين الدهون أو الزيوت والماء وقاعدة قوية، مثل الصودا الكاوية أو البوتاس.
تتضمن مراحل صناعة الصابون الرئيسية ما يلي:
وزن المكونات: يتم وزن كمية الصودا الكاوية والماء والدهون أو الزيوت بدقة. من المهم التأكد من أن النسبة الصحيحة من المكونات موجودة لضمان سلامة الصابون وفعاليته.
تحضير الدهون أو الزيوت: يتم تدفئة الدهون أو الزيوت حتى تصبح سائلة. هذا يساعد على تسهيل عملية التفاعل.
تحضير محلول الصودا الكاوية: يتم إذابة الصودا الكاوية في الماء ببطء مع التقليب باستمرار. من المهم القيام بذلك في مكان جيد التهوية، حيث يمكن أن يطلق محلول الصودا الكاوية أبخرة سامة.
إضافة محلول الصودا الكاوية إلى الدهون أو الزيوت: يتم إضافة محلول الصودا الكاوية إلى الدهون أو الزيوت ببطء مع التقليب باستمرار. يتسبب هذا التفاعل في ارتفاع درجة حرارة الخليط وظهور فقاعات.
الصابونة: بعد أن يتوقف الخليط عن الفقاعات، يكون قد أصبح صابونة. يُترك الخليط ليبرد ثم يصب في قوالب.
النضج: يُترك الصابون لينضج لمدة أسبوعين إلى ثلاثة أسابيع. خلال هذا الوقت، يستمر التفاعل الكيميائي ويتصلب الصابون.
