يكثر في استعمال لا النافية للجنس حذف الخبر، كما في قولك:
لا شكَّ - لا جدالَ - لا مفرَّ - لا بدَّ
وفي عبارة التوحيد: لا إلهَ إلّا اللهُ

ويكون اسم لا النافية للجنس مبنيًّا على ما ينصب به في محلِّ نصب إذا كان مفردًا
ومنصوبًا إذا كان مضافًا أو شبيهًا بالمضاف
تقول: لا طالبَ علمٍ مضيَّعٌ - لا طالبًا علمًا مضيَّعٌ - لا حلَّ سياسيًّا للأزمة
