كان نزول سورة يوسف على رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم من عوامل التثبيت، والمواساة، وتخفيف الآلام والأحزان في مرحلة الشِدَّة والوحشة، وفقد النصير بوفاة عمه أبو طالب وزوجته خديجة بنت خويلد رضي الله عنه في مكة، وفي السورة الكريمة إشارةٌ إلى أن الفرج آتٍ لا محالة مهما اشتدّت المصاعب، وتكالب أهل الباطل
