الشيخ العربي التبسي شيخ المجاهدين والذى اذيب فى الزيت المغلي من قبل الاستعمار الفرنسي الغاشم هو فخر المسلمين درس فى الازهر الشريف وحث الزائريين على مكافحه الاستعمار ودعم الثوره الفرنسيه وحرض الناس على الجهاد فى سبيل الله حاول اصقائه اقناعه بالخروج من الجزائر ولكنه رفض وعرف المستعمرين بانه يتمتع بشعبيه كبيره فبعثوا له مبعوثين للتفاوض معه فرفض فارادوا التخلص منه فتم خطفه وتكفلت فرقه السنغاليين فى الجيش الفرنسي بتعذيبه حتي جاء يوم الشهاده فجاؤا بقدر من زيت السيارات المغلي ووضعوه فيه فنال الشهاده .
