ظواهر غريبة: همهمة تاوس
كان بعض السكان والزوار في مدينة تاوس الصغيرة في نيو مكسيكو، منزعجين ومتحيرين لسنوات بسبب همهمة غامضة وخافتة منخفضة التردد في هواء الصحرا ومن الغريب أن حوالي 2 بالمائة فقط من سكان تاوس أفادوا بسماع الصوت.
يعتقد البعض أنه ناتج عن شيء غير عادي ويشك البعض الآخر في أن الناس أصابتهم هستيريا جماعية، سواء تم وصفه بأنه أزيز أو طنين أو رنين وسواء كان نفسيًا أو طبيعيًا أو خارق للطبيعة، لم يتمكن أحد حتى الآن من تحديد مصدر الصوت، لكن أحد الاستطلاعات كشفت أن أولئك الذين يدعون سماع الأصوات يسمعون في الواقع العديد من الأصوات المختلفة، مما يشير إلى أن التجارب قد تكون ذاتية وليس لها علاقة بظواهر غريبة
