يحكى أنه كان هناك أخوان أحدهما غني والثاني فقير، فقرر الغني في أحد الأيام أن يرسل لأخيه المال بشكل غير مباشر؛ لكي لا يحرجه، فألقى في طريقه سرة من النقود، وانتظر أن يأتي له بخبر العثور على نقود في الطريق، لكن أخاه أخبره أنه قرر أن يأتي مغمضاً عينيه هذا اليوم، فقال الأخ الغني: «المتعوس متعوس ولو علقنا على رأسه فانوس
