كان العرب اذا دخلوا حربا ركبوا ذكور الخيل لجلدها وصبرها ويتفادوا الاناث خوفا من انها تكون شبقه وتحن لصوت الذكور واذا اغاروا فكانوا بفضلوا الناث لانها لا تصهل وتوفر للعدو عنصر المباغته وكانوا فى الحرب يخيطوا مهابل افراسهم لكى لا تلحق بخيول العدو قد يبدو المشهد قاسى نوعا ما لكنهم كانوا يحافظوا على سلامه خيلهم نقيه .
فهى عزه وشموخ الرجل العربى كان يغار على فرسه وهى من البهائم فما بالك بالنساء
فالقوه والغيره كانت ميزه العرب قبل مجئ الاسلام وانما الاسلام هذبها وصقلها ويكفى دليلا قول النبى صلي الله عليه وسلم ( جئت لاتمم مكارم الاخلاق )
ومن مكارم الاخلاق عند العرب قديما الغيره على اعراضهم .
